End of the road for Bhuma Family in Nandyala?

Bhuma Akhila Priya

Bhuma Nagi Reddy and his wife Sobha Nai Reddy worked hard to build their political empire in the Nanndyala region. After the death of Nagi Reddy and Shobha Nagi Reddy, Akhila Priya became the natural successor to the political legacy of the Bhuma family.

Bhuma Akhila Priya

Per the promise made to Bhuma Nagi Reddy, Chandra Babu Naidu inducted Akhila Priya into his cabinet. Within a short period of taking charge as a minister, Akhila Priya started falling off with relatives and close aides of the family.

Nandyala By-Polls was one of the first events that lead to cracks in the Bhuma political group. For reasons not know, AV Subba Reddy close friend and follower of Nagi Reddy fell apart with the Bhuma family during the Nadyal By-Polls. The differences became more visible and public after the 2019 polls. This has gone to the extent, where a case was filed on Bhuma Akhila Priya and her husband, for hiring contract killers to eliminate AV Subba Reddy.

A couple of months ago, another Bhuma family member of Kishore Reddy left Telugu Desam Party and joined Bharatiya Janatha Party. He is most likely to contest from Allagadda as BJP nominee in the days to come.

A couple of days ago, Bhuma Nagi Reddy’s uncle Bhuma Narayana Reddy filed a case on Akhila Priya’s husband Bhargava Ramudu, and her brother Vikyath Reddy. Bhargav Ramudu was batting for Vikyath Reddy as the Chairman of the Vijaya Dairy, a post which was held by Bhuma Narayana Reddy for three decades.

After the 2019 defeat of Akhila Priya, several family members and leaders loyal to the Bhuma family have left Akhila Priya.  Very few leaders that are with the family are not active in politics. Only time will tell if the Bhuma family will regain the glory under Akhila Priya’s leadership.
