Chinnababu as he is popularly known within the party and among ‘telugu tammullu’, Nara Lokesh is said to be feeling uneasy of late. The reason – Telugu Desam Andhra Pradesh party president Atchannaidu.
Chinnababu aka Lokesh rose to a level where his intent was the last word, after TDP came to power in newly formed Andhra Pradesh. His was the final word in almost every party move. Things have changed drastically now and chinnababu is said to be feeling rather uneasy within his own party, say TDP insiders.
Well, it is known that TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu did a major rehaul of the party and appointed various party members in key roles. He named the party presidents both for Telangana and Andhra along with naming central committee, politburo and Telangana state committee members. In the revamp, he took special care to include BCs, Scs, STs and minorities. A large number of roles went to BCs, while the others were given adequate representation.
In the process, Tekkali MLA Atchannaidu was made the president of Andhra Pradesh wing. He replaced K Kala Venkata Rao who also hails from Srikakulam, yet another BC leader. After being named, Atchannaidu got into action immediately and has started mobilising the cadre to start mass agitations and take up issues against ruling YSRCP.
Given the drive and gusto of Atchannaidu, chinnababu is said to be worried that the cadre that was once hovering around him will now work with Atchannaidu. Talk is that, to counter Atchannaidu’s influence in the party, chinnababu is now working towards forming his own core group within the party. If rumours are to be believed, then Lokesh is said to be taking the help of Ayyanna Patrudu to gain traction.
