Rana and Prabhas both achieved remarkable stardom following their roles in the epic masterpiece “Baahubali,” directed by Rajamouli. However, their career paths diverged after the project, with Prabhas venturing into pan-Indian films while Rana explored a variety of genre roles. In an open conversation with the press, Rana candidly shared his admiration for Prabhas and explained the source of his envy.
He revealed, “The first time I felt a tinge of jealousy was when I visited the sets of ‘Kalki.’ Growing up, ‘Star Wars’ represented the pinnacle of visual effects for me. It was a film I deeply cherished. Interestingly, Nagi (Nag Ashwin) also shared a similar affection for the film. ‘Star Wars’ was this unique fusion of science fiction that wasn’t entirely mainstream.”
Rana went on to praise Prabhas’s upcoming project, “Kalki AD 2898,” describing it as a fantastic film. He further elaborated, “When I stepped onto the set, I couldn’t help but think, ‘He’s bringing to life everything I’ve ever dreamt of.’ That day, I found it hard to talk to him in person. Instead, I went home and called him, saying, ‘Dude, I’m genuinely envious, although I can’t quite put my finger on why.’ His response was, ‘Dude, my conviction that I’m on the right path only strengthens when you feel envious.’ This film seamlessly blends the worlds of mythology and science fiction, and I’m genuinely thrilled about its potential. With an ensemble cast and a wide array of elements, it promises to be an exceptional project.”
