Venkatesh On Accepting Netflix Web Series

Venkatesh Daggubati is one of the most beloved actors in the Telugu film industry. With a career spanning nearly four decades, the senior star hero has earned a reputation as the ultimate family hero, known for his wholesome performances in family dramas and romantic comedies. So, when it was announced that he would be starring in a Netflix web series with profanity and bold scenes, it came as a surprise to many.

The web series in question is titled “Rana Naidu”. The series reportedly features some profanity and bold scenes, which is a departure from Venkatesh’s usual clean-cut image. However, despite this, Venkatesh was not deterred and chose to take on the project, citing the need for Telugu content to reach a wider audience.

Talking about the preparation he went through for the ‘Naga Naidu’ character, the senior hero said, “I worked on my expressions. Naga is unbelievable. For example, there is a scene where his wife opens the door and when you see him looking at her, you do not know what he is thinking and if you can trust him. There are many facets to this guy, from being humble to being messy. Some portions might even make you root for this bad guy.”

Talking about his relationship with Rana in the web series, Venkatesh stated, “We do not share a typical father-son relationship in this story wherein I, as a father character, sing songs, raise a child, he gets into trouble and then I have to protect him.” The web series will be streaming on Netflix from 10th March.
