Rajamouli’s Baahubali success across the world elevating the standard of Indian cinema at the international level, inspired all filmmakers across the country to dream big. When Rajamouli revealed that his dream is to make Mahabharat on the silver screen, many filmmakers tried to do the same before Rajamouli could do as he revealed that to take Mahabharat one requires lot of energy, resources, and planning.
Bollywood stars like Amir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about Mahabharat, and Malayalam filmmakers even announced a project Randamoozhalm, based on Mahabharat. However, Malayalee makers shelved the project owing to the cost of the project while Amir Khan tried numerous ways to take the project to sets.
He first tried to make a feature film but then decided to come with a web series on Mahabharat. At one time he decided to shelve the project also.
Now reports are coming that Amir Khan is holding discussions with Rajamouli’s dad Vijayendra Prasad to turn his project into a reality on the silver screen. He is planning to take Mahabharat in two parts on the silver screen. Vijayendra Prasad penned scripts for blockbusters like Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Manikarnika.
