There has been an ongoing feud between Vijay Devarakonda and Anasuya. Which began when Anasuya objected to the use of derogatory language towards mothers in Vijay’s film Arjun Reddy (2017). Despite Vijay remaining silent, his fans and the public criticized Anasuya’s alleged hypocrisy as she had previously hosted a comedy show where women were ridiculed and subjected to vulgar jokes, while simultaneously claiming to be a champion of women’s dignity.
The issue seemed to have been resolved when Vijay offered Anasuya a role in his home production, Meeku Matrame Cheptha (2019). However, things turned sour after the release of Vijay’s film, Liger (2022), which performed poorly at the box office. Anasuya expressed her pleasure at the movie’s failure, claiming that it was deserved for its disrespectful treatment of mothers. In response, Vijay’s fans trolled Anasuya, criticizing her appearance and her item song performances. The public also faulted Anasuya for celebrating a film’s failure, given her own status as an actress and a member of the film industry.
The feud between the two recently reignited when Anasuya ridiculed the title poster of Vijay’s upcoming film, Kushi, which included the prefix “The” before Vijay’s name. She labeled it as “paityam” or craziness. As expected, Vijay’s fans reacted strongly to Anasuya’s comments.
However, sources suggest that Anasuya’s animosity towards Vijay goes beyond the use of an abusive word in a film that was released six years ago. Allegedly, Vijay and Anasuya’s husband, Bharadwaj, had a physical altercation at a party where Bharadwaj made fun of Vijay’s film’s poor box office performance. Vijay reportedly rebuked both Anasuya and her husband for their behavior and referred to Bharadwaj as someone who relied on his wife’s name and income.
This incident appears to have fueled Anasuya’s ongoing campaign against Vijay, which resurfaces whenever his new film is due for release. While Vijay remains silent, his fans continue to retaliate against Anasuya on social media.
