Thalaivi lands in controversy

Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi directed by AL.Vijay is getting mixed reviews from across the country. While the film got good reviews from the south especially from Tamil Nadu, it got negative reviews from the North.

In the meantime, Thalaivi which is a biopic on former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa landed in a controversy. AIADMK party of which Jayalalithaa was the founding president, found objection to the few scenes in the film.

They said that unlike shown in Thalaivi, MGR never demanded any minister post from the then DMK politician Karunanidhi or the then TN CM Annadurai. The party leaders also objected to the scenes in the film which showed MGR distancing Jayalalithaa. They said there was never a rift between MGR and Jayalalithaa.

Thalaivi starred Aravind Swamy, Nasser in the roles of MGR and Karunanidhi. GV.Prakash Kumar scored music for the film produced by Vishnuvardhan Induri,Shailesh R Singh, Brinda Prasad on Zee Studios,Vibri Motion Pictures, Karma Media and Entertainment, Gothic Entertainment,Sprint Films banners.
