Tamilians Insulting Ram Charan?

Director Shankar is making headlines for simultaneously shooting two of his upcoming films, Game Changer and Indian 2. While Indian 2 is slated to release during Sankranthi 2024, Game Changer is expected to hit the screens in the summer of the same year.

Although the makers of Game Changer announced its Tamil release and unveiled a Tamil poster, Tamil movie enthusiasts didn’t seem too excited about the film on social media. The reason for this lack of excitement could be attributed to the fact that the film features a Telugu hero.

In contrast, Telugu movie-goers have always been receptive to Shankar’s films, irrespective of the hero. They have embraced Shankar’s movies despite their Tamil flavor, which has not been the case with Tamil audiences.

Even recent movies like Varisu and Vaathi, which had superstars Vijay and Dhanush, failed to generate much excitement amongst Tamil audiences, as they were produced and directed by Telugu professionals.

It’s worth noting that Tamil audiences are still hesitant toward Telugu actors and technicians. Only a handful of Tamil stars appreciated the success of SS Rajamouli’s RRR at the Oscars. On the other hand, Indian 2 has piqued the interest of Tamil fans as it marks the return of the Kamal Haasan-Shankar duo after 29 years. Kamal’s recent success with Vikram has further fueled the hype for the movie.
