Devayani, a renowned South Indian actress from the past, known for her work alongside stars like Kamal Haasan, Vijay, and Pawan Kalyan, has embarked on a new career path as a teacher in Chennai. Currently, she finds fulfillment in her teaching profession at Church Park School on Anna Salai.
After her debut as a leading lady in the 90s, Devayani married Rajakumaran and became a mother of two daughters. Despite facing personal and financial challenges due to her marriage against her family’s wishes, she embraced motherly roles in films and ventured into television serials. In addition to her acting career, she also produced several movies.
Devayani, originally named Sushma, stood apart in the industry for her choice not to engage in skin-show roles, which earned her dignified roles that matched her image. Since 2014, she has balanced her teaching career alongside her continued involvement in the film industry.
