After multiple postponements, Aha’s latest film “Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu” has finally arrived on the OTT platform. The movie stars Jagadeesh Prathap, known for his role in the film “Pushpa,” in the lead role, and it is directed by Abhinav Danda. Let’s see how it fares.
Story:
“Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu” revolves around Sathi (Jagadeesh Prathap), an auto driver living with his wife Andamma (Mohana Sree) and their two children in Kolluru. Sathi’s daughter suffers from a heart issue, and he desperately needs a large sum of money for her operation. With no other options available, he decides to sell his two acres of land. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a briefcase containing precious stones. Sathi seeks the help of his friend Anji (Raj Tirandas), a thief, to sell the stones. What unfolds next? Who is the actual owner of these valuable gems? Will Sathi be able to save his daughter’s life? These questions form the crux of the story.
Positive Aspects:
Jagadeesh Prathap delivers a sincere performance as a struggling father trying to gather funds for his daughter’s operation. His appearance and body language are commendable, and he remains natural throughout the film.
However, it is Vennela Kishore who steals the show with his witty nature. His humorous antics provide entertainment and generate laughter among the audience. Mohana Sree, Aneesha Dama, and Taj Tirandas also deliver decent performances in their respective roles.
The first hour of the film has some engaging moments, and the comedy portions succeed in eliciting laughs. The background music sets a quirky tone, and the music composer has done a commendable job.
Negative Aspects:
Unfortunately, the lackluster writing prevents “Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu” from becoming a solid comedy entertainer. Although the story has the potential to create an enjoyable and wacky experience, the writing falls short.
While there are a few genuinely funny scenes that can make the audience giggle, the overall entertainment value gradually declines as the movie progresses. The second hour is particularly filled with dull sequences, which significantly hinder the film’s appeal. These scenes neither entertain nor contribute to the story.
Another major drawback is the poorly handled climax, which leaves the audience with a sense of incompleteness. Although it is mentioned that there will be a sequel, the film’s ending disappoints in terms of providing a satisfying conclusion.
Verdict:
In conclusion, “Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu” manages to provide a few moments of laughter and showcases the sincere performance of Jagadeesh Prathap. Vennela Kishore’s standout acting adds to the film’s charm. However, the screenplay falls short of elevating the movie to a higher level. As a result, “Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu” can be considered an average watch for this weekend.
