Samantha Ruth Prabhu has revealed that she was advised against accepting the item song “Oo Antava” in the movie Pushpa after her divorce was announced. However, she expressed her desire to take up the offer as she did not want to stay at home with all the negative news surrounding her. Despite opposition from her close family and friends, Samantha decided to accept the song as it was the first project she had picked up after her divorce was made public.
Samantha, who will be playing the lead role in the upcoming movie Shaakuntalam opposite Dev Mohan, has been cautious in selecting her projects since her divorce in 2021. In an interview, Samantha mentioned how she did not want to hide away during her divorce proceedings and wanted to continue working.
During the interview, Samantha mentioned that she received the offer for the item song when she was going through her separation from Naga Chaitanya. She stated that her well-wishers and family advised her against taking up the offer, but her first instinct was to accept it. Despite the opposition, she went ahead with her decision to take up the song.
