Salaar, if everything proceeds according to plan, is poised to become the most profitable venture for Hombale Films. The collaboration of Brand Baahubali and Brand KGF has generated enormous anticipation for this project.
When the film initially began production, there was great confidence in its potential at the box office and its far-reaching impact on the industry. However, the real challenges for Hombale Films emerged after the shooting phase, as director Prashant Neel decided to reshoot numerous scenes. This decision resulted in an increased budget and greater financial strain. Many scenes were reworked, and now there is news that the team has even removed some of the reshot footage as they believed it wouldn’t fit the film.
The deleted footage is reported to be quite substantial, and the producer incurred significant financial losses as a result. Additionally, the business aspects of Salaar, both in the theatrical and non-theatrical domains, fell short of the producer’s expectations due to delays, competition with “Dunki,” and reservations from OTT giants.
Given these circumstances, Hombale Films has already suffered substantial financial setbacks. Consequently, the producer is determined not to postpone the film any further. The reshooting of scenes during post-production and the removal of a significant amount of footage have certainly had an impact on the film, which was not initially anticipated by Prashant Neel.
