Red trailer is out. Ram Pothineni’s next release is Red, which happens to be a thriller. Of late, thanks to the OTT platforms, one thing has become clear. Indian audiences seem to be enamoured by films that are high on violence, adult content and intrigue. (Check out the pictures)
While Telugu film-makers and audiences stay away from adult stuff, violence and mass elements are a hit with them, providing the presentation is good. Ram Pothineni’s trailer of his upcoming film Red showcased Ram playing a double role in a thriller.
It shows how one Ram is a cool and simple guy who falls in love with a girl. It’s love at first sight and he is a happy guy. But his peaceful world is disturbed, well, by another Ram. The story goes like this – a man is dead after being attacked by one Ram. This leads to an investigation and the police after lots of footwork manage to arrest one Ram. Just when they think the investigation is over, the police capture another Ram. And that’s what the thriller is all about. They have to now figure out who killed the man.
The film has Nivetha Pethuraj, Malavika Sharma, Amritha Iyer in the lead roles. Incidentally, the film happens to be a remake of 2018 Tamil film Thadam. Made under Sri Sravanthi Movies banner, the film is being directed by Kishore Tirumala. The music is by Mani Sarma.
The thriller is set for release in January 2021.
