The Kollywood film industry is in mourning following the untimely and heartbreaking passing of the renowned actor and director, G Marimuthu, at the age of 58. Marimuthu, known for his impactful performances and fearless expressions of opinion, tragically left us on September 8 while dubbing for a television program. His last appearance on screen was in Superstar Rajinikanth’s film, ‘Jailer.’
The tragic incident unfolded at approximately 8:30 a.m. today during Marimuthu’s dedicated dubbing session for the TV show ‘Ethir Neechal.’ Shockwaves reverberated throughout the studio as he suddenly collapsed. Prompt action was taken, rushing him to a nearby hospital in Chennai, but, regrettably, he was declared deceased upon arrival.
Marimuthu’s memorable acting contributions include notable roles in films such as ‘Vaali,’ ‘Jeeva,’ ‘Pariyerum Perumal,’ and ‘Jailer,’ among others. Besides his acting prowess, he was also a YouTube sensation, widely recognized for sharing candid and outspoken opinions on various subjects.
As a mark of respect for the late actor and director, Marimuthu’s body will be transported to his Chennai residence, allowing the public to pay their respects. Subsequently, his final rites will be conducted in his hometown of Theni, where he will find his eternal rest.
