Under the leadership of YS Jagan, the Andhra Pradesh police recently intercepted Pawan Kalyan’s journey on two occasions, suspecting his intent to support N Chandrababu Naidu, who had been previously arrested. However, Kalyan clarified that his planned event had been scheduled four months prior, and he was en route to attend a Janasena party meeting for Varahi 4th Phase.
Contrary to speculations, he emphasized that his destination was not Vijayawada to support Chandrababu Naidu. He criticized the government for causing unnecessary chaos due to the erroneous assumption that he was going to meet CBN and offer support. These events led to clashes between Kalyan’s supporters and the police, as his convoy was repeatedly halted.
Frustrated, Kalyan staged a protest by sitting on the road. Eventually, the Jagayyapeta police arrested him during this tense situation. The government’s actions raise questions about their fear of Pawan Kalyan. Preventing him from reaching Mangalagiri and arresting him appears excessive.
What harm could it have caused if Pawan Kalyan had reached Mangalagiri to express his support for Chandrababu Naidu? At most, he might have held a press conference and criticized YS Jagan’s politics. This incident highlights the government’s apprehension not only towards Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, and TDP supporters but also towards anyone raising their voice against them. It seems to be another self-defeating move by Jagan’s administration.
