Rhythm goes in search of her missing son all alone during these years but she fails to get a single clue. Finally, her efforts bare fruit when she finds out that a person wearing Charlie Chaplin mask is behind her son’s kidnap and also that of other kids. To find out the mystery behind it, enjoy Penguin on the silver screen.
Stars Sparkles
Keerthy Suresh carried out the film on her shoulders. She cast a magic spell on viewers with her performance. She came with the right kind of expressions, emotions, and created a powerful impact.
None of the other actors matched her performance. After Keerthy Suresh, Nithya Kiruba performed well. Ajay also did well but they are no match to Keerthy Suresh.
Director’s Special
Director Eashwar Kaartic came with an interesting story. Though the story is good on paper, he failed with his execution. He failed with his story, screenplay, and direction.
He started off on an interesting note and keeps viewers engaged for more than half an hour. However, he loses steam from then on, testing the patience of the viewers.
He concentrated on elevating the role of Keerthy Suresh and thus failed to create powerful roles for others. For all his efforts, he failed to elevate emotional content to connect chords with the viewers. He failed to give the thrills he promised with his thrilling scenes and overdose of Tamil flavor undid the film. Finally, climax turned out to be disappointing and routine.
Technical
Santosh Narayanan elevated the scenes with his background music. He made a powerful impact on viewers giving them a new experience. Music is also in sync with the storyline and attracted viewers.
The cinematography of Karthik Palani beautified the film capturing the scenic locations in a realistic and attractive manner.
However, Anil Krish failed with his editing. He left many repetitive scenes and drags which affected the film in the long run.
Production values are good.
Viewers Verdict
Penguin fails to show its power.
