Director Meher Ramesh had a rather disheartening experience on the opening day of “Bholaa Shankar.” He chose to join Chiranjeevi’s fans in a Hyderabad theater to watch the film firsthand.
During the screening, he witnessed a disheartening sight as some fans left the theater visibly unsatisfied, and a few even candidly expressed their disappointment, directly attributing the perceived disaster to his direction.
As the week progressed, the film garnered an onslaught of negative critiques from critics, audiences, and Chiranjeevi’s own fans. This mounting backlash led Ramesh to retreat from the public eye, seeking solace within the confines of his home.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Ramesh has encountered such a backlash. A decade ago, his work on “Shakti” drew heavy criticism from NTR Jr’s fanbase, a film that received widespread mockery. Similarly, his direction in “Shadow” faced harsh rebuke from Venkatesh’s admirers. The failure of “Bholaa Shankar” marks his third consecutive setback, with even the followers of the Megastar joining the chorus of criticism.
The outcome of this unfortunate flop seems to signal the end of his directorial career, casting serious doubts on the prospects of him securing another opportunity in the director’s chair. Following the disappointment of “Shadow,” no producer stepped forward to collaborate on another project under his guidance, leaving him in an eight-year limbo of waiting for a second chance.
It’s worth noting that Ramesh’s association with “Bholaa Shankar” was primarily rooted in his familial ties, as Chiranjeevi extended the offer due to their cousin relationship.
