Adivi Shesh is one actor who is improving with each film and delivering decent hits that are made in limited budget. After delivering a series of hits like Kshanam, Goodachari, and Evaru, Adivi Shesh is coming up with Major, based on the life and heroics of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who was martyred in action during the November 2008 Mumbai attacks. The movie finally got released amidst huge hype. Let’s see how it fares.

Following the terrorist attack on the Taj Hotel in Mumbai, a group of NSG Commandos led by Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan (Adivi Shesh) get into action to save the innocents who are stuck inside the Hotel. Sandeep Unnikrishnana and his team risked their lives and saved several lives in this operation. Sadly, the 31-year-old Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan got martyred in the attack. Despite his parents are against him joining the army, Sandeep aspires to serve the country and joins the army to serve the nation.

The director focuses on just not his heroics but also Sandeep’s love story. Sandeep falls in love with Isha (Saiee Manjrekar) and the duo gets married. However, instead of spending time with the family, Sandeep loves to serve the nation. He emerges as the top Training Officer for NSG Commandos. He trains 51 NSG team which will be asked to handle the Mumbai terror attacks. Sandeep as a Training Officer and as per the protocol he will not be allowed to participate in the mission. But he joins the team against the rules. The rest of Major is all about the battle with the terrorists and how Sandeep saves the innocents who got struck in Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai.

The movie is not just about the brave acts of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, but also narrates the story of a man who always aspires to serve for his nation and his love story, bonding with his parents. The first half focuses on his personal life and the second half is focused on the deadly 26/11 terror attacks that shook the entire nation.

On the whole, Major is a well-made movie which pays a true tribute to the man who sacrificed his life for the nation. The emotional component and especially the climax will leave everyone heavy hearted. Another promising film from Adivi Shesh.
