BRS Working President and Telangana Industries and IT Minister, KT Rama Rao, has voiced his enthusiastic support for the Women’s Reservation Bill presently under discussion in the Indian Parliament. During the inauguration of the International Tech Park in Madhapur, KTR went a step further by expressing his willingness to vacate his MLA seat once the bill is passed, in a bid to bolster female representation in both the state assembly and parliament.
In a notable gesture, KTR directly addressed a foreign woman delegate at the event, stating, “The Indian Parliament is actively deliberating the Women’s Reservation Bill, which we wholeheartedly welcome. We aspire to witness the rise of more women leaders, and if it necessitates me giving up my seat, I am ready to do so. We all have a finite period of effectiveness, and I believe I have contributed my share to the cause.”
Beyond his commitment to gender equality in politics, KTR also seized the moment to underscore Hyderabad’s status as an ideal investment destination. He emphasized the city’s pivotal role in global vaccine production and reassured potential investors of the government’s unwavering support, vowing that they would receive comprehensive assistance in their endeavors. KTR’s unwavering dedication to both women’s empowerment and economic development underscores his profound commitment to the progress of Telangana and the nation as a whole.
