Jia Khan’s Suicide Case: CBI Court Acquits Hero

The suicide case of Jiah Khan, a Bollywood actress famous for her role in the movie Gajini, has been a highly-discussed topic in the Indian film industry for a prolonged period.

Recently, the Mumbai CBI Court delivered its final verdict on the case involving the accused, Sooraj Pancholi, who was Jiah’s boyfriend at the time of her death.

According to the CBI court, there is insufficient hard evidence to prove that Sooraj instigated Jiah’s suicide. As a result, he has been cleared of all charges, and he is free to go.

This verdict brings to an end a decade-long legal battle initiated by Jiah’s mother, who had accused Sooraj of driving her daughter to suicide.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the case, Jiah was an American-born actress who had aspired to achieve success in Bollywood. She starred as the second female lead in Gajini and was in a romantic relationship with Sooraj. However, Jiah suddenly took her own life in her Mumbai flat on June 3, 2023, and in her suicide note, she blamed the complications in her live-in relationship with Sooraj for her decision.
