Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is making changes to his MLA candidates for the upcoming elections. Today, several YCP MLAs visited Jagan at the AP CM camp office seeking assurance about their candidature. There’s news about Jagan’s decision regarding JSP MLA Rapaka Vara Prasad, who has been associated with YCP for about 4 and a half years.
It is reported that Jagan might field Rapaka in the parliamentary elections by offering him the Amalapuram MP ticket, hinting that Rapaka might not get the chance to contest for his current Razole MLA seat under the YCP ticket. This suggests that Jagan has someone else in mind for the Razole constituency.
Even though Rapaka has been close to YCP since the elections, he never officially joined the party, technically remaining a JSP MLA. If Jagan does indeed decide to deny him the MLA ticket and instead offer the Amalapuram MP ticket, Rapaka might feel betrayed after supporting Jagan for over four years, especially as the MLA seat is highly valued among active politicians. The shift in Rapaka’s potential candidacy could lead to disappointment for him, considering his loyalty and involvement with Jagan’s camp for an extended period.
