Featuring Rao Ramesh in the lead role, Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam is directed by Lakshman Karya and it is up for release on the 23rd of this month. The film is produced by Bujji Rayudu Pentyala and Mohan Karya under PBR Cinemas and Lokamaatre Cienmatics banner. Tabitha Sukumar is presenting the film and it is her maiden presentation. Mythri Movie Makers are releasing the film in Telugu. This film has Ankith Koyya in the role of Rao Ramesh’s son and here’s what he had to say about the film in his latest interaction with the media.
Ankith, you’ve acted in many films but this is your first interview, tell us about it?
I’m from Vizag and I did B. Tech in GITAM Vizag. My passion for acting started while in college and I used to train budding actors there. When I started my stint, I did an OLX ad with Allu Arjun garu. The interesting thing is that Allu Arjun garu personally selected me for the ad after seeing my audition.
How did your parents react when you said about your acting dream?
My father is a teacher and my grandfather is a retired head master so the dream of acting was always distant for me. I took 1 year time from my parents that I would either become an actor in that period or I would go back to doing a job as they wanted. I then got a chance in Majili, followed by Johar, and then Aswththama. Later, Shyam Singha Roy, Satybhama, and newly released Aay happened.
How did Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam happen?
Indraja garu played my mother in he film and I later got to know that she was the one who suggested me for the role. Lakshman was initially skeptical about my prowess but he later accepted me after auditioning. Tell us about your character in the film I play a peculiar character in the film. My attitude towards the character is such that “I wasn’t born in this house. I am Allu Aravind’s son and Allu Arjun’s brother.” MY character genets great fun in the film. Your Aay is presented by Allu Aravind garu, did you discuss about MAruthi Nagar Subramanyam with him? I happened to meet allu Aravind garu recently.
Allu Aravind garu funnily said “I heard that you are playing my son, what about it?” he was joking about it. I feel I have a connection with the Allu family. I first did an OLX ad with Allu Arjun garu and then happened Aay with allu Aravind garu’s presentation.
Did Rao Ramesh garu give you any tips and advises?
I am blind actor who delivers whatever my director wants. I once asked Rao Ramesh garu if I am doing well. Ramesh garu replied by saying that I am doing well and I can continue the way I am doing.” My father and grandfather were doing stage plays and I think perhaps the genes got carried in me. Our director Lakshman anna helped me a lot as well.
Sukumar garu is supporting your film and his wife Tabitha is presenting it, what is your take on it?
I haven’t been lucky enough to meet Sukumar garu yet. But Tabitha garu has been of great support to us. Lakshman anna said Sukumar garu watched the film and told him all the actors did well.
You did Happy Wedding with Niharika, and now you are working under her production house, what is the experience?
Niharika asked me not to miss Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam and encouraged me to do the film as Lahsman anna is a good a good director. She even forwarded me to top hierarchy of Pink Elephant production. I really hope Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam goes on to become a smashing hit.
