The Madras High Court decisively rejected Mansoor Ali Khan’s defamation case against Chiranjeevi, Trisha, and Khushboo, highlighting that if legal action were to be pursued, it should have been by Trisha herself. The lawsuit stemmed from Mansoor’s controversial remarks made during a promotional interview for the film “Leo” in November.
In dismissing Mansoor Ali Khan’s plea, the court rebuked him, stressing the importance of appropriate conduct. Concerned about his influential status as an actor, the court questioned, “As an actor, you are a role model for youngsters. Is it acceptable to behave in such an uncouth manner?” Furthermore, the court instructed Mansoor’s lawyer to advise the actor on exhibiting proper behavior in public settings.
Notably, Khushboo, Chiranjeevi, and several actors from different industries stood in solidarity with Trisha, condemning Mansoor Ali Khan’s offensive comments during the controversy.
Mansoor Ali Khan’s defamation lawsuit followed a public apology to Trisha, wherein he expressed remorse, saying, “To my co-star Trisha, please forgive me. I hope the divine grants me the chance to convey my best wishes when you embark on married life.” Despite the apology, the Madras High Court upheld its decision to dismiss the case, emphasizing the responsibility that public figures like Mansoor carry regarding their actions.
