The war of words continues between TPCC chief Revanth Reddy and Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao. As their ongoing dispute over free electricity supply to the agricultural sector intensifies. Harish Rao retaliated by stating that Revanth is the rightful successor of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, further escalating the tension.
Revanth had accused Harish Rao and Assembly Speaker Srinivas Reddy of involvement in the alleged sand mafia, adding fuel to the already heated exchange. Harish Rao strongly criticized Revanth for his comments and reminded him of the farmers’ protests during the Congress government due to a lack of electricity supply. He accused Revanth of continuing Chandrababu Naidu’s legacy and undermining the significance of agriculture by suggesting that three hours of electricity supply is sufficient for farming.
Harish Rao also pointed out Revanth’s past criticism of the Congress’ provision of free electricity to the agricultural sector when he was a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He accused Revanth of hypocrisy for now supporting the Congress, emphasizing that the party has consistently betrayed Telangana’s interests. In contrast, Harish Rao highlighted the achievements of Telangana in the agriculture sector under Chief Minister KCR’s leadership.
He praised the 24-hour electricity supply to farmers, which has been widely appreciated by the agricultural community. Harish Rao urged every village in Telangana to engage in discussions about electricity supply and emphasized its benefits to the Bharatiya Rythu Samanvaya Samiti (BRS). Revanth’s comments have caused unexpected troubles for the Congress, with the BRS taking advantage of the situation. However, it is crucial to acknowledge the progress made by Telangana in agriculture and electricity supply to the farming sector.
