Custody, an intense action thriller starring Naga Chaitanya, is set to release in theaters on May 12. Ahead of the release, the film’s director, Venkat Prabhu, interacted with Telugu film media in Hyderabad and shared some interesting tidbits about the movie.
According to Venkat Prabhu, he initially suggested the title “Shiva” for the film, as it is similar in intensity to the Nagarjuna classic of the same name. However, Naga Chaitanya promptly rejected the idea, citing the cult following of the original and the potential backlash from fans if they were to use the title without a compelling reason.
Venkat Prabhu also spoke highly of Naga Chaitanya, praising his simplicity and humility. The film also stars Arvind Swamy and Krithi Shetty in leading roles and has been produced by Srinivasa Chitturi. Music for Custody has been composed by Maestro Ilayaraja and his son Yuvan Shankar Raja. The theatrical trailer for the movie is set to release on May 5.
