Doubts On Ram Pothineni’s Skandha

Ram Pothineni, known for his boy-next-door image, is attempting a transformation into a mass hero. While he successfully made this shift with ‘iSmart Shankar,’ his subsequent films ‘Red’ and ‘The Warrior’ didn’t perform as expected, resulting in disappointments. Despite these setbacks, Ram is determined to reestablish himself as a mass hero with ‘Skandha,’ and he holds high confidence in the project, mainly because it’s directed by Boyapati Srinu, renowned for his high-voltage action movies.

The recently unveiled trailer, while not receiving unanimous acclaim, has managed to generate some excitement. Beyond the action sequences, the film appears to offer a substantial dose of glamour, with actresses like Sree Leela and Sai Manjrekar making their presence felt. It’s worth noting that Boyapati’s last film, ‘Akhanda,’ achieved superhit status largely due to Balakrishna’s star power, as the film itself wasn’t exceptional.

Ram Charan’s ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ generated immense pre-release buzz, but it ultimately turned out to be a colossal disaster. Nevertheless, the film managed to gross 70 crores thanks to Ram Charan’s star appeal. However, the same level of security may not apply to ‘Skandha.’ If the film fails to succeed, the financial losses could be substantial, as Ram Pothineni doesn’t carry the same star-hero status.
