Filmmakers make movies with the expectation that the movie will become a hit and bring them profits, name, and fame. But, sometimes, the filmmakers can foresee the result of the movie during the filming itself. One such movie which the producers felt would be a disaster is the recently released Butta Bomma.
An official remake of the Malayalam movie Kappela, the Telugu version has Aneekha Surendran, Surya, and Arjun Das in the lead roles. The producer reacted after the movie’s result and said that the audience have watched the Malayalam version during the lockdown and hence none have shown interest to watch it in the theaters.
The makers have also thought to rope in Vishwak Sen and Siddhu Jonnalagadda as the male leads, but they turned down the offer and eventually went to Surya and Arjun Das. The producers should have at least planned for a direct OTT release instead of a theatrical release as the loss percentage would have been minimized.
