Dhruv Vikram’s shelved project is gearing up for a digital release

In 2018, Tamil star hero Chiyaan Vikram announced that his son Dhruv will be making his silver screen debut with Tamil remake of the blockbuster Telugu romantic drama, Arjun Reddy. Vikram’s close aide and critically acclaimed director Bala was picked to direct the Tamil version. Titled Varma, after wrapping up the entire film shooting, due to reasons unknown the film was stalled. 

Later, a debutant named Gireesaaya was roped in to direct another version of the film. Titled Adithya Varma, the film was released in 2019 and Dhruv Vikram got rave reviews for his acting in the movie. Now, the latest news is that Bala’s shelved version, Varma is soon going to see the daylight. Reportedly, a noted digital streaming channel named Simply South app has acquired the rights of Varma and is gearing up to premiere it on October 6. Bengali girl Megha Chowdhury will be seen as the leading lady in Bala’s version of Arjun Reddy.

It remains to be seen, how the Netizens will receive Bala’s Varma after all these years.
