Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha Rajinikanth, has encountered a legal setback from the Supreme Court. The court has revived the case against her, involving alleged cheating charges. Previously, the Karnataka High Court had dismissed these criminal charges.
The Supreme Court has reinstated the alleged criminal charges against Latha Rajinikanth, which are connected to the Tamil film ‘Kochadaiiyaan.’
Latha had been facing charges of cheating and forgery, which stemmed from a case filed in 2015 by Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd, a Chennai-based advertising company. The dispute revolved around financial matters related to the production of the film ‘Kochadaiiyaan,’ which was produced by Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited.
While the Karnataka High Court had previously dismissed the cheating charges against Latha, it had allowed the forgery cases to proceed. The recent decision by the Supreme Court now necessitates that Latha either seeks discharge from the trial court or faces trial. This is based on a 2018 Supreme Court order that upheld the continuation of criminal proceedings.
