Chandrababu Naidu’s Influence, Galla Family’s Active Return to Politics

The Galla family is renowned for their strong political influence, with Galla Aruna Kumari being a three-time MLA from Chandragiri and Galla Jayadev a two-time MP from Guntur. However, after Galla Aruna’s defeat in the 2019 MLA election, she distanced herself from party affairs, even contemplating leaving politics altogether.

Surprisingly, recent developments indicate a change in Galla Aruna’s stance. She has become actively involved in the Chandragiri constituency, engaging with party leaders and locals to address their concerns. This suggests she might contest from Chandragiri in the upcoming elections. Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh have encouraged her to participate in party activities ahead of the polls.

Meanwhile, rumors suggested that Galla Jayadev expressed disinterest in contesting the Guntur Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 general election. Instead, he asked party chief Chandrababu to find a suitable replacement candidate for Guntur.

Despite this, the party’s top leadership is reluctant to lose Galla Jayadev, highlighting the significance of the Galla family’s continued presence in public life. As the situation unfolds, the future political landscape in Andhra Pradesh remains uncertain, awaiting the decisions of Galla Aruna Kumari and Galla Jayadev regarding their electoral pursuits.
