Amir Khan has astonished all by disclosing the news of divorce. He confirmed parting his ways from Kiran Rao after 15 years of their marriage. However, in the statement issued by both of them, they mentioned that their relationship will continue to stay as an extended family.
The statement that was issued read as, “We will also continue to work as collaborators on films, Paani Foundation, and other projects that we feel passionate about,”. Amir Khan and Kiran Rao fell for each other on the sets of Laggan which was in 2001 and thereafter they tied a knot in December 2005. Also, they were blessed with a baby boy in December 2011 and named him Azad Rao.
Amir Khan had two children namely Junaid Khan, his son, and Ira Khan, his daughter from his first marriage with Reena Dutta. Amir Khan is presently engaged in Lal Singh Chachadda, the remake of a super hit Hollywood movie Forrest Gump and the producer is none other than Kiran Rao.
