After a long gap, Tollywood has witnessed two big hits which are released on the same day. Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara and Dulquer Salmaan’s Sita Ramam have emerged as the box-office winners. While Bimbisara is a socio-fantasy thriller, Sita Ramam is a poetic love story which is receiving heaps of praises from all quarters. Apart from Dulquer Salmaan, it’s the leading lady Mrunal Thakur who is getting lots of applauds.
However, Mrunal Thakur was not the initial choice for the role of Sita in the movie. As per the sources, Pooja Hegde was offered the role, but she rejected it citing some reasons. In that way, Pooja’s loss has become Mrunal’s gain.
With Sita Ramam becoming a hit, netizens started taking a dig at director Radhakrishna of Radhe Shyam fame saying it’s the content that matters and not budget. Both Radhakrishna and Hanu Raghavapudi have assisted director Chandrasekhar Yeleti. While Hanu Raghavpudi stuck to basics and scored a hit, Radhakrishna on the other hand relied more on grandeur rather than emotional content for Radhe Shyam and delivered a dud.
