LUCKNOW: The long-awaited Babri Masjid demolition case has finally come to an end. Former Deputy Prime Minister of the mosque accused LK Advani (92), Murli Manohar Joshi (86), Uma Bharati floating CBI special court passed a judgment. Judge Surendra Kumar Yadav delivered the verdict. The CBI questioned 351 witnesses as part of the investigation. A total of 49 accused in the case were charged and 17 died while the case was being heard. The CBI special court delivered a landmark judgment on September 30 after a long trial of 28 years.
On September 16, the judge ordered all 32 defendants present in court at the time of sentencing. However, it seems that Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, and Mahant Nrityagopal Das could not appear in court due to their age and corona. Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh are currently being treated in hospitals for corona infection. As a result, they did not appear in court during the trial. They were all available via video conference at the time of the verdict. Sakshi Maharaj, Vinay Katiyar, Dharam Das, Pawan Pandey, Vedanti, Lallusingh, Champat Roy, and others appeared in court. It is learned that the Supreme Court has already directed the CBI special court to complete the trial of the case by September 30 and deliver its verdict. The CBI court today issued its verdict in this regard. During the verdict, the CBI set up heavy police security outside the court.
