Indian 2 : Shankar was a sensation back in the 1990s. At the time Maniratnam was ruling the Tamil cinema, Shankar rose to stardom with heavy-budget and message oriented movies.
All his movies Gentleman, Premikudu, Bharateeyudu were a rage back then. After delivering massive blockbusters like Aparichitudu, Robo, Shankar has become a pale shadow of his own self. His movies I, Robo 2.O, Snenithudu were disasters.
However, recently his announcement of the sequel to Bharateeyudu raised a lot of expectations. The movie started off with a bang, but got halted due to many reasons.
Production banner Lyca production has spent a bomb on the movie, an accident on shooting spot and exceeded budget raised differences between the director and producers.
Now as per the latest update, though Kamal Haasan is ready to resume shoot, Shankar is hesitant. In fact, Shankar is focusing only on his movie with Ram Charan and Aparichitudu remake in Hindi with Ranveer Singh.
Going by thus, it’s evident that Bharateeyudu 2 is shelved and it’s a disappointing news for the movie lovers who are eagerly waiting to watch the sequel.
