GANDHARWA MOVIE REVIEW

Starring: Sandeep Madhav, Gayathri Suresh, Sheetal Bhatt, Saikumar, Rohini, Babu Mohan

Director: Apsar

Producer: MN Madhu

Sandeep Madhav is one actor who is trying to make his mark in Tollywood. After playing Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga in Ram Gopal Varma’s Vangaveeti, he played the titular role George Reddy movie and also played YSR’s role in NTR’s biopics.

Now, the actor is trying his luck as a hero with the latest release Gandharwa. Let’s see whether the movie brings him any luck or not.

Story:

Captain Avinash (Sandeep Madhav) is an army man and the movie is set in the 1971 era. After getting happily married to Amulya (Gayathri R Suresh), he receives an emergency call from the Indian army to join the Indo-Pak war. With no option left, he joins the army back and goes into the war.

Unfortunately, he slips in the valley and everyone assumes he’s dead in the war. But, to everyone’s surprise, he wakes up after 50 long years and finally finds his family. His wife Amulya who was shocked to see her husband back tries to prove Avinash is her husband. What happened to Avinash during all these 50 years and can Amulya prove that Avinash is her husband forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

The director has touched a novel point with this movie. Performances by Sandeep Madhav and Saikumar are quite impressive.

The comedy of Jabardast Ram Prasad and Rohini gives a huge relief. An action episode in the second half stands out.

Minus Points:

Though the movie has a unique point, and while the plot needs to be narrated in an engaging and serious manner, the director failed and made it an uninteresting watch with poor narration.

Verdict:

On the whole, Gandharwa fails to impress despite a new plot and few comedy scenes. The movie would have been a better watch if the director has narrated the movie in a serious manner.
