The upcoming film Laila, starring Vishwaksen in a groundbreaking role, has already generated a buzz ahead of its release. Known for his distinctive style, Vishwaksen takes on the dual challenge of playing both a male and a female character in this romantic-action entertainer. Directed by Ram Narayan and produced by Sahu Garapati under the Shine Screens banner, Laila has already caught the attention with its teaser and super hit songs. Today, the makers dropped the film’s theatrical trailer, nearly a week before its official release.
The film’s plot centers around a life-or-death situation where the life of an MLA hangs in the balance due to Sonu’s actions. In response, the public erupts in anger, burning his image in protest. The police and a ruthless antagonist, Rustum, embark on a relentless manhunt to catch him. Amidst this chaos, Sonu takes a drastic step- he transforms into a woman named Laila. Using her charm, Laila navigates a dangerous game, seducing both a police officer and Rustum in a bid to evade capture.
The storyline promises a thrilling ride, blending tension with humor. Director Ram Narayan cleverly weaves fun into intense situations, and the trailer offers a refreshing blend of comedy and suspense. Vishwaksen shines in his portrayal of both Sonu and Laila, delivering a stupendous performance. His transformation into Laila, in particular, is impressive and bound to resonate with the youth, who will likely enjoy the character’s playful charm.
The trailer also highlights the romantic subplot between Vishwaksen and Akanksha Sharma, with the latter exuding glamour. Cinematographer Richard Prasad does an exceptional job of presenting Vishwaksen’s dual roles, while Leon James’ music enhances the comedic elements of the film. The production values of Shine Screens are top-notch. The screenplay is penned by Vasudeva Murthy, with editing by Sagar Dadi and art direction by Brahma Kadali.
With its high-energy trailer generating excitement, Laila is set to hit the big screen on the 14th of this month, promising a rollercoaster of laughs.
