Sony Liv acquired the digital rights of the film for a record price, and initially, it was slated to premiere in May. However, the digital release has been delayed, causing frustration among Akhil’s fans. The delay is due to Surendar Reddy and his team taking extra time to edit the final version, adding some episodes that were initially cut for the theatrical release.
Unfortunately, this delay in the digital release is dampening the audience’s interest. The movie has already been declared a failure, and there will be a limited audience willing to watch it in the digital space. Sony Liv is expected to make an official announcement soon regarding the OTT release date, which is likely to be in June. “Agent” is directed by Surendar Reddy and produced by AK Entertainment. Akhil will announce the release date, and he will commence shooting for his next film in August.
