We had already reported that Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas will be making his grand entry into Bollywood with Prabhas and SS Rajamouli’s super hit film Chatrapathi.
The latest news from Tollywood circles is that none other than VV Vinayak will be directing the film in Hindi. Well, it comes as a surprise for sure that the makers did not opt for a Bollywood director to give it a pan-Indian flavour.
However, VV Vinayak has been a hit director in Telugu with many commercial hits in his career, though he has been experiencing a brief lull in his career of late. If the project goes off as expected, it will be huge achievement for VV Vinayak to direct a Bollywood film of this scale. It will also mark the debut of Vinayak in Bollywood.
The film will see Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas stepping into the shoes of Prabhas. Chatrapathi was a blockbuster when it released and hence the makers of the Hindi version want to ensure that the film retains its original flavour. Dr Jayantilal Gada who is producing the film in Hindi is happy with the choice of his hero and the director. “Chatrapathi was a great script and we needed a southern star to carry it to Bollywood. And we saw Bellamkonda as a perfect fit. All things are falling into place at great speed. We have updated the script to match the Bollywood sensibilities,” reveals Dr Gada.
As for VV Vinayak, he made megastar Chiranjeevi’s re-entry film Khaidi No 150 which was the biggest non-Baahubali hit. He was much appreciated for his work and the way he presented the megastar by all industry biggies including SS Rajamouli.
