Once touted as a potential player in Andhra Pradesh politics, JD Lakshminarayana’s prospects suffered a blow due to an unsuccessful foray into politics from the Vizag parliamentary seat. Today, JD made a significant announcement in Nandigam, declaring his intention to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming general elections in the ap state.
In a curious turn of events, JD finds himself in an unexpected predicament, with none of the prominent political parties in Andhra Pradesh showing interest in his involvement. Despite holding talks with various parties, JD’s demand for the Vizag parliamentary ticket has proven to be a sticking point that deterred any potential collaboration.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has already pinned its hopes on Bharath, the son-in-law of Nandamuri Balakrishna, for the Vizag parliamentary seat, leaving no room for accommodating JD. Similarly, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disinclination towards JD is rooted in their contentious history, as JD played a pivotal role in leading CBI cases against Jagan’s alleged disproportionate assets.
Even Pawan Kalyan, leader of another political faction, remains uninterested in JD’s overtures. JD’s departure from Pawan Kalyan’s party in 2019 has left a lingering sense of resentment, further obstructing any possibility of collaboration. In light of these circumstances, JD Lakshminarayana’s sole recourse appears to be his decision to contest the elections independently. This move underscores the complex dynamics and personal histories that shape the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh.
