Vijay Deverakonda will be next seen in romantic comedy “Kushi.” However, his previous release, “Liger,” directed by Puri Jagannadh, failed to meet the high expectations and performed poorly at the box office.
Speaking during the trailer launch event for “Kushi,” Vijay Deverakonda addressed the failure of “Liger.” He expressed, “The most disappointing aspect about ‘Liger’s’ outcome is that I didn’t anticipate it. I confidently predicted its success, and it didn’t pan out that way. While the failure of the film didn’t deeply affect me, I found myself questioning how I could have possibly misjudged the situation. As a consequence, I’m imposing a personal silence and allowing my work to do the talking over the course of my next three films. It’s a self-imposed penance for the embarrassment I brought upon myself.”
Vijay Deverakonda further shared that although he isn’t afraid of facing failures, the disappointment is undeniable when a film doesn’t perform well. He drew an analogy, stating, “It’s akin to not being afraid of stumbling, yet experiencing the pain when I do stumble.”
In this way, Vijay Deverakonda candidly addressed the setback of “Liger” and his approach to future projects, aiming to let his work demonstrate his capabilities.
