The trend of streaming celebrity weddings on OTT platforms has gained immense popularity, with audiences eagerly anticipating glimpses of these extravagant events. The most recent addition to this trend is the wedding of Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi, who tied the knot on November 1st in a picturesque town in Tuscany, Italy, surrounded by their close family and friends in an intimate ceremony.
Following their private wedding, the couple hosted a grand reception for the film industry and media on Sunday. The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including all the Mega heroes, but only pictures from the celebration have been shared so far. Notably, no video footage has been made available to the public.
In breaking news, it’s been reported that Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi’s wedding will be exclusively streamed on Netflix. Reportedly, Netflix secured the exclusive streaming rights for their wedding for a substantial amount of Rs 8 crores. Netflix presented a proposal to Nagababu, suggesting that they would film the wedding and make it available for streaming on their platform. This marks the first instance of a wedding being streamed on an OTT platform.
In the past, Netflix had acquired the streaming rights for Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivn’s wedding. However, due to contractual violations, Netflix had to cancel their streaming agreement. Notably, Naga Babu had previously uploaded his daughter Niharika’s wedding video to YouTube.
