Siva Karthikeyan’s Doctor is releasing in Telugu as Varun Doctor on October 9th. Here is the film’s mini review.

Military doctor Varun (Shiva Karthikeyan) breaks up with his lady love Padmini (Priyanka Arul Mohan) following differences. But he gets a shocking news that Padmini’s sister is kidnappened. What happens next forms Varun Doctor’s story.

Shiva Karthikeyan tried to be different with his performance in his film. He tried this to avoid monotony. Though his attempt is lauded, at times he turned too stiff while trying to show calm and poise on screen. Priyanka Mohan didnot get important role in the film. Yogi Babu attracts with his comedy along with Redin Kingsley. Vinay Rai is ok in his role. Milind Soman and Raghu Ram are underused.

Director Nelson Dilip Kumar after a slow and normal narration increases interest with the kidnapping and thrilling elements. He blended the thrilling and hilarious elements in an interesting and entertaining manner. However second half turns serious and emotional connect is missing in the second half. From then on everything turns predictable.

Anirudh Ravichander’s music is ok but he elevated the proceedings with his BGM.Vijay Kannan’s cinematography is good. Editing is good. Production values are fine.
