Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela tied the knot in 2012 and have been a much-admired couple in the South film industry. Like most Indian couples, they faced the inevitable question about having kids soon after their marriage. However, being celebrities, they had to deal with this query more frequently.
After more than a decade of their marriage, the couple is now entering an exciting phase of their lives – parenthood. Upasana, who is currently expecting, recently opened up about her and Ram Charan’s excitement to welcome their little bundle of joy.
In an interview with reporters, Upasana shared that although they faced a lot of pressure from society and family regarding having kids, they never let it affect them. She feels proud that they waited until they were ready to start their family, without succumbing to external pressures.
Upasana said, “I am very, very excited and also very proud that I chose to become a mother when we wanted to, not when society wanted to. So,ten years after our marriage, we have taken a call to have a kid now and I think it’s the best time because both of us are booming, both of us are financially secure and we can take care of our kids by ourselves. It was our mutual decision. As a couple, we didn’t let pressure hit us, whether it is from the society outside, our family or outsiders. Which says a lot about our relationship and how we are going to bring up our child as well.”
