MM Keeravaani, a music director who rose to fame in the 90s, recently achieved a feat he never even dreamt of – winning an Oscar. The music maestro shared that he grew up listening to The Carpenters and used the band’s iconic track, On Top Of The World, to express his gratitude towards the RRR director Rajamouli and others involved in the creation of the world-famous Naatu Naatu track.
To his surprise, Keeravaani and the lyricist Chandrabose received a special video from Richard Carpenter himself. The legendary musician and his family sang a modified version of On Top Of The World to congratulate them on their remarkable achievement, and the Instagra Reel of the video has been making waves on social media.
SS Rajamouli, the director of RRR, shared that throughout the Oscar campaign, his brother Keeravaani maintained a calm composure. However, the moment he saw the video from Richard Carpenter, he couldn’t control the tears of joy rolling down his cheeks. Rajamouli described it as the most memorable moment for their family and thanked Carpenter for the special gift.
Keeravaani, who was overjoyed with the surprise, shared that he never expected it and felt it was the most wonderful gift from the Universe.
