Trivikram Srinivas, now a prominent director, once faced challenges in establishing his career 25 years ago. His breakthrough came with the film “Swayamvaram,” which featured a cast of newcomers, including the lead pair Venu and Laya, as well as a relatively new producer and director. Trivikram contributed the story and dialogues for the first time in this film.
Directed by Vijayabhaskar, “Swayamvaram” unexpectedly became a sleeper hit. Following this success, Trivikram also lent his storytelling prowess to another film titled “Chirunavvutho,” starring Venu, which also achieved box office success. These movies not only propelled Venu’s recognition but also marked a turning point in his career, with “Kalyanaramudu” emerging as a major hit for him.
Subsequently, Venu took on significant roles in multiple-hero films such as “Hanuman Junction” and “Pellam Oorelite,” both of which turned out to be blockbuster hits. However, his career experienced a downturn as he appeared in a series of unsuccessful ventures, eventually leading to a role in NTR’s “Dhammu,” directed by Boyapati Sreenu.
After a hiatus of nine years, Venu made a comeback in Ravi Teja’s “Rama Rao On Duty,” which unfortunately did not fare well at the box office either. Presently, Venu is venturing into the realm of OTT platforms, trying his luck in the Disney Hotstar series titled “Athidi,” where he assumes a lead role. The series is anticipated to be a thrilling one, and while only a glimpse poster has been unveiled, a more comprehensive picture will emerge with the release of the series trailer.
Under the direction of Bharat YG and cinematography by Manoj Katasani, “Athidi” is set to explore the OTT space. Praveen Sattaru takes on the role of showrunner and is also producing the web series under the banner of Random Frames Entertainment.
