Gunasekhar stunned all with his dream project Rudramadevi with Anushka in lead and Rana and Allu Arjun playing powerful support roles. Allu Arjun’s cameo as Gona Ganna Reddy thrilled everyone.
When Gunasekhar was scouting for an actor to play Gona Ganna Reddy’s role, speculation increased that either NTR or Mahesh babu would play the role.
Gunasehkar said NTR and Mahesh Babu called him and expressed their interest to star in Gona Ganna Reddy’s role but things did not work out favorably. He said then Allu Arjun entered and came with a terrific performance.
He said he was inspired by Hollywood film Brave Heart to do Rudramadevi. He said when he narrated the story to a few producers after Okkadu, many asked him to change the story into a heroine oriented one which he did not and instead turned the producer. Gunasekhar revealed that he will direct NTR in the future as he is a big fan of NTR.
