According to reports, Junaid Khan, the son of Aamir Khan, and Khushi Kapoor, the younger daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. Have been selected to play the lead roles in the Tamil blockbuster Love Today’s remake. Although rumors about their casting have been circulating for some time, it was only recently confirmed that both actors have been signed for the movie. Junaid and Khushi will portray a deeply in love young couple in this unique romantic entertainer.
The young star kids will step into the roles originally played by Pradeep Ranganathan and Ivana in the original film. The casting for other roles, originally portrayed by Sathyaraj, Yogi Babu, and Raadhika Sarathkumar, is currently underway and is expected to be finalized by next month. Director Advait Chandan, known for his work on Secret Superstar and Laal Singh Chaddha, has been brought on board to direct this remake, and he has reportedly already started preparations for the production, scheduled to begin in July 2023.
While remakes haven’t had much success in Bollywood recently, the industry’s fascination with them seems to continue, at least until the next year. Several remakes of South Indian films are currently in development, including this one by Phantom Studios. The production banner announced the remake of last year’s Tamil blockbuster Love Today in February, in association with the original producers, AGS Entertainment. Three months later, the casting of Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor was finalized for this romantic comedy, and filming is set to commence in the second half of this year.
For Junaid and Khushi, this film will mark their second acting venture, following their respective debut films scheduled for release this year. Junaid is making his acting debut in Yash Raj Films’ thriller drama Maharaja, directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra. On the other hand, Khushi is making her Bollywood debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix adaptation of The Archies, alongside Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, and Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.
