After 2018 blockbuster film, Mahanati, young filmmaker Nag Ashwin is gearing up to direct Rebel star for his next. Touted as a sci-fi drama, the project was officially announced a few months ago. Bollywood star heroine Deepika Padukone is roped in for the female lead in the movie.
Meanwhile, the latest news is that the regular shooting for this as-yet-untitled film will kick-start from May 2021. Early reports indicate that the makers are aiming for a Sankranti 2022 release of the film.
Senior director Singeetam Srinivas Rao will be supervising the project and is going to be a guiding force for the team. Ace producer Ashwini Dutta will be bankrolling this pan-India project with a massive budget.
