Following a not so impressive outing with Om Raut’s “Adipurush,” based on the Ramayana, Bollywood filmmakers are now gearing up for a trilogy of the Indian epic. Sunny Deol is reportedly in discussions to take on the role of Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming adaptation of the Ramayana trilogy. The already star-studded cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. According to sources close to the project, Sunny Deol is being considered for the role of Hanuman due to his embodiment of strength, which aligns with the character of Bajrangbali.
While the actor has expressed interest in joining Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana adaptation and playing Lord Hanuman, it’s still in the early stages of discussion. This adaptation of the Ramayana is a collaborative effort between Nitesh Tiwari, Madhu Mantena, Namit Malhotra, and Allu Aravind. The co-producers not only support casting Sunny Deol as Hanuman but also have plans to develop a spin-off centered around his character. It’s this separate storyline that has captured the actor’s enthusiasm for the project.
The Ramayana only represents a portion of Lord Hanuman’s life, and Nitesh Tiwari aims to explore other facets of the story through a standalone film dedicated to the character of Hanuman.
The success of this venture will depend on several factors, including shooting schedules, commitment to franchise spin-offs, and financial arrangements. The trilogy is expected to commence filming in February of the following year.
