Though actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and directors Shankar, and Maniratnam had the Pan India image. Decades ago, the obsession for the ‘Pan India’ image has increased in the last few years. Every actor is trying to get the ‘Pan India’ image. However, actor Vijay Sethupathi seems doesn’t enjoy the tag of ‘Pan India’ actor.
Recently, Vijay Sethupathi, who will soon be featured in Raj and DK’s Hindi web series Farzi, was referred to be a ‘Pan-India’ actor. However, he disliked being referred to by the same nickname.
“No sir, I am an actor,” Sethupathi responded on being called a Pan- Indian actor during his latest interview with a media house. “I am not comfortable with that Pan-India statement. Sometimes that gives pressure also. I am just an actor and no need to put a label under it,” he continued. Many South actors in the past, like Dulquer Salmaan and Prabhas, expressed that they are not a fan of the often-used term ‘Pan- India’.
Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in an important role in Atlee’s Jawan which has Shahrukh Khan playing the lead role and Nayanatara playing the heroine. The movie is expected to have a theatrical release this year.
